Languette Bacquart: a powerful adhesive clasp against ingrown nails!

In our search for effective solutions to ingrown nails, we often stumble upon the familiar, classic adhesive forceps.
However, in its shadow lurks a lesser-known but highly effective adhesive forceps: Languette Baquart.

Get started easily with this step-by-step!

1. PREPARATION OF THE LANGUETTE

 

• Remove the languette from the package and place it on the nail to be treated. Measure the required length by placing the languette as close to the nail as possible(photo 1).
  Note: Leave an opening of 1 mm from the nail plate.
• Using a ballpoint pen(photo 2), draw a line on the languette where to cut. Then use tungsten pliers to cut the languette to the desired length(photo 3).
• Avoid injury by gently pushing down the polymer of the adhesive bracket. In this way, cut only a small piece of the titanium wire (photo 4).
  Do this on both sides in the same way.
  To prevent the titanium wire from coming out of the polymer, apply a drop of glue to both ends(photo 5).
  The languette is now fully prepared.

2. PREPARATION OF THE NAIL

 

• Lightly roughen the surface of the nail with a router for a good adhesion of the languette. If you want an even stronger bond, use a diamond ball cutter and mill 3 small balls on both ends of the nail plate(photo 6). Do this at the place where the languette will be glued.
• After this, degrease the nail, as well as the side of the languette in contact with the nail plate.

3. PLACEMENT OF THE LANGUETTE

 

• Apply a small drop of glue to one side of the languette(photo 7) and glue this side to the nail(photo 8). Apply light pressure on the nail and wait for the glue to harden. Do the same on the other side.
• After gluing the languette to the nail, it is recommended to place 4 more small drops of liquid glue around the languette to allow the glue to penetrate completely under the languette.
